Question:

I’ve always been attracted to psychopaths. I know it comes from the fact that my father is a narcissist and I like how smart they are and I can adore them—something I cannot do with other men.

But I also know how weak they are from an emotional perspective. They appear to be powerful, but they are the weakest. Believe me, I’ve spent a lot of time with these abusers.

People around me say that I’m beautiful and successful; I also love myself, so it’s not a low self-esteem issue that attracts me to narcs. Also, they’re attracted to me.

For me love is a very unsafe place. Once I am attracted to a narc, I immediately start to feel anxious and start to compare myself with other women, as if I know they will never love me—the same old pattern.

I’ve done so much work on me, I thought I’d move past that victim energy.

I feel helpless. Any advice?
