I Don’t Want to Date a Guy with Kids

Question:

I wanted to know if you could speak a bit about dealbreakers.

I am currently 31 and am not considering men with children or have been divorced, as I don't necessarily think I am ready for that, and it makes getting married within the church a bit more difficult (annulments aside) and getting married in the church is important to me.

I have been using the dating apps, and have been "filtering out" divorced men or men with kids.

As I get older, I realize there may be fewer and fewer men without kids from a previous relationship, so I realize my dealbreakers may change, but is that settling?

I don't necessarily want to be a stepmom at 31 or 32.

Can you explain how this part of your life changed because I am sure that at some point you weren't looking for men with kids, then that must have changed along the way.
