Can I Figure Out if We’re Compatible Via FaceTime?

Question:
Can you give me any pointers on how to know someone is compatible?

For the last five weeks, I’ve been video chatting once a week with a guy. I wasn’t sure we had much in common as he’s kind of quiet, but I feel I can be myself with him.

I think maybe I don’t trust myself to get it right. The only semi-relationship I’ve had was about six months long and the guy turned out to be hiding in addiction. I felt deceived and betrayed but I couldn’t really complain as it never felt right to me and I definitely went along with the relationship because it felt better then continuing to have lived without ever having been in a relationship!

So here I am again getting close to someone I still haven’t met (which is another whole problem) and questioning whether he’s too quiet for me, etc.! Any advice on straightening out my thought process would be amazing.
