Is it Wrong that I Don’t Want to Date a Man with Kids?

Question: Hi, Dr. Karin. I’m 43 years old, single, never married, no kids. Is it bad that I don’t really want to date a man with kids? I know it’s hard to find at my age; my mom says I’m settling if I do. Also, in past relationships I’ve had, their adult children were disrespectful towards me for no reason. I’m open minded if someone has children, but it’s not my preference. Also, I don’t bring kids to the table so I don’t really want to deal with his. What are your thoughts on this?
