🐍 Removing Harmless Ratsnake From a Glue Trap 😢

Glue traps are the most inhumane, cruel devices you could possibly use, because they trap ANY unintended small animal that comes into contact with them. These kinds of traps don't always catch rats and mice. Often, they end up killing lizards, snakes, and small birds, like finches and sparrows, that find their way inside of the same spaces to take refuge from the cold or make nests. Just days ago, I even saw a video of an OWL who was in starving and unable to fly, all because he had a glue trap stuck to the feathers of his right wing, and that was enough to keep him from being able to fly - which in turn caused him to be unable to hunt and eat. He was likely going after a rodent he found on the glue board, when he himself got ensnared by it. Most animals starve or die of dehydration very slowly over days or even weeks until they finally die. This snake, by all appearances, was likely stuck on this board for 1-2 weeks. He was found inside a storage unit in Waco, and only discovered in a rare chance occurrence when the renter of the unit needed help that day with a jump-start of her vehicle, from a person who is an animal advocate, and that person saw the snake and saved him. He had to be driven up to me for care, almost 4hrs from Waco, when TWO other wildlife rehabbers in the central Texas area REFUSED to help him, even when offered to transport him there and then to take him back once he was freed from the board. All they were asked to do, is free him from the board, because they had experience doing it with birds and other animals, but they refused to help this animal. 🤬🤬 These rehabbers are a pure disgrace for refusing to help wildlife they don't *like. This rescue makes no such discriminations, and helps ANY animal in need of emergency assistance.

The best way to remove an animal from a glue trap is to use dilute dish washing soap, or for birds, a dust, like calcium powder or flour, to help the glue to release, and go SLOWLY so that you don't tear the skin or feathers, and do internal harm to them. Some people advocate to use substances other than dish soap or dry dust. I don't support that, because anything other than simple dish soap or a dry non-toxic powder may do harm to them, just if it gets on their skin and won't easily come off. It can cause severe overheating, which is why I won't even mention these other ideas, because they're that dangerous, and most people are morons who don't absorb the proper words.

Please, don't be a F-ing asshole. DON'T use glue traps. Only uncaring assholes use glue traps. If you need to trap rats or mice, I highly recommend The Ratinator live trap, and other size traps by the same company. They are incredibly effective, without being cruel.
