NICS Denial Notification Act could lead to criminal investigations into innocent gun owners

The NCIS denial notification act proposed by congress in 2021 is gaining traction again and could lead to innocent gun owners being criminally investigated due to errors in the NCIS background check system. According to a FOIA request, the FBI admits that 27% of denials are in error.

The law would require an investigation into anyone who was denied a firearm purchase regardless of the reasons for the denial.
