Omicron – World's New Headache

Just when it looked like we had managed to defeat the COVID- 19 pandemic, the virus changed its spots and emerged as a new variant. Omicron, first detected and isolated in South Africa, is worrying health authorities across the world because it might have crucial mutations that can help the virus evade our immune response and make the vaccines less effective.
