Last of the 40s: The Missabe Iron Range

With time short for the remaining SD40 variants on the former DM&IR portion of the CN system, I've made it a point to visit the Twin Ports area as frequently as possible to document the last of an iconic era, even if the power isn't maroon and gold.

C40-8 replacements have been showing their faces on the Iron Range with straight air modifications to operate with the ore cars, and while some crews and shop personnel may favor the classic rides, the replacement of the SD40s in everyday service is imminent as the wheels of "progress" continue to turn.

If it looks cool, take a picture of it, because chances are it'll disappear before you know it.
