Is retired combat veteran, with 22 years of honorable service. As a member of the Republican Party, he was elected to the United States Congress to represent Florida’s 22nd District, and later served as Chair over the Republican Party of Texas. He’s married with 2 daughters and a grandson.

Current Texas Land Commissioner, a Native Texan, veteran of the US Naval reserve. Attorney & Businessman, and Graduate of the University of Texas School of Law. He lives with his wife in Austin with his two children.
