The Number of Z-Wave Devices Supported on the 2GIG GC2 or GC2e
Note: Although 232 Z-Wave devices are technically supported on the 2GIG GC2 and GC2e Systems, 2GIG recommends using fewer Z-Wave devices if possible. Trying to use a very large number of Z-Wave devices can cause instability and poor performance for the system. We don't have a clear limit on how many Z-Wave devices you should use with a GC2 or GC2e. Just understand that the more devices on the network, the more likely the system is to experience delays in processing commands.
In this video, Michael from Alarm Grid discusses how you can use up to 232 Z-Wave devices on a 2GIG GC2 or 2GIG GC2e Security System. The 2GIG Go!Control GC2 System has a built-in classic Z-Wave controller, while the newer 2GIG GC2e System has an integrated Z-Wave Plus controller. Both allow you to pair Z-Wave home automation devices with the system. This will allow you to control the programmed devices directly from the panel. And if the system is monitored and set up with Alarm.com, then you will be able to control the devices remotely and include them with Alarm.com Smart Scenes.
One important thing to keep in mind is that Alarm.com has its own Z-Wave device limit, which is considerably smaller than what is supported by the 2GIG GC2 or GC2e. Only the first 122 Z-Wave devices paired with one of these systems will be pushed over to Alarm.com for remote control. Any Z-Wave device numbered 123 up to 232 will not be pushed over to Alarm.com. Z-Wave devices 123 thru 232 will only be available for local control. If you have a Z-Wave device that you really want to have for remote access on Alarm.com, and you already have exceeded the 122 device limit, then you should delete enough Z-Wave devices so that only 121 are paired with your system, allow Alarm.com to update, and then add the Z-Wave device as the 122nd device. Then allow that device to be pushed to Alarm.com. You can then go back and add the deleted devices for local control only.
