Adding a User Code to a Qolsys IQ Panel 2

In this video, Jorge from Alarm Grid shows you the process for adding a new user code to a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 or Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus System. Adding a new user code can also be considered the same as adding a new user to the panel. Each programmed user will have its own user code on the IQ Panel 2.

If you are the main operator of a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 or Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus, then you may want to make it so that everyone who uses the system regularly has their own unique user code. This can be good for tracking who used the system in any given situation. All arming and disarming events will be stored in the system's event log, so you will be able to keep track of such information by assigning each user a different code. User codes can be between four (4) and six (6) digits depending on the system settings. The default length is 4 digits. You must change the user code length setting within system programming if you want to increase the number of digits for codes.

In order to change user codes on the system, you must use the Master Code, the Installer Code, or the Dealer Code for the system. If you want to change the Installer Code, you must use either the Installer Code or the Dealer Code. And only the Dealer Code can change the Dealer Code. The default Master Code for the system is 1234. It is strongly recommended that you change this code for security purposes. However, you should keep the Installer Code and the Dealer Code at their respective defaults of 1111 and 2222. Keeping these codes at their defaults will prevent you from being locked out of programming later on.
