Setting Up Video Analytics for Alarm.com

In this video, Michael from Alarm Grid explain how to set up Video Analytics for use with Alarm.com. Video Analytics is a feature for various Alarm.com Security Cameras. It allows you to get alerts regarding important detected activity, while ignoring activity that isn't important or doesn't matter.

Certain Alarm.com Security Cameras are compatible with Alarm.com Video Analytics. This is advanced feature package that can be enabled by your alarm monitoring company if you have compatible security cameras. The feature allows you to configure which types of alerts you will get notifications for, as well as which ones will be ignored. Alarm.com Video Analytics are extremely customizable, allowing you to set up the notifications you want, while ignoring the events that don't matter as much.

When you set up an Alarm.com Video Analytics Rule, you can establish a customized notification zone where activities and alerts can be triggered. Each notification zone can be set up and configured so that certain activities trigger alerts, while others are automatically ignored. For example, you can set whether you want alerts from people, animals, objects, and/or vehicles to trigger alerts. Each individual rule can be set up with its own customized configuration and its own set of contacts so that you are alerted only when it matters.

In order to start using Alarm.com Video Analytics, you need to have at least one (1) compatible Alarm.com Security Camera, and you need to have the feature enabled by your monitoring company. Alarm Grid will enable the Alarm.com Video Analytics Package at no additional charge, so it is extremely easy and affordable to add if you are an Alarm Grid customer with video monitoring services. We include video monitoring for Alarm.com on our Platinum Plans, so you will want that if you want to get started with Alarm.com security and video monitoring. We also offer a video-only monitoring plan that can be used with Alarm.com Video Analytics, however no monitoring service will be provided on the video-only monitoring plan.
