The Honeywell Lyric Security System Will Allow for Different User Codes

In this video, Jorge shows how you can program multiple user codes to a Honeywell Lyric System. You can use these user codes that you program to arm and disarm the system as needed. There are also other codes programmed with the system, including a Master Code, Installer Code, Guest Code and Duress.

A user code is somewhat of a "standard" code for the system. These codes are used for arming and disarming, but not much else. The advantage to setting up multiple user codes is that everyone who regularly uses the system can have their own code. This is good for identifying who used the system last at any given time. Each code on the system is four (4) digits in length. A total of 48 codes can be set up on the Lyric System.

The Master Code has some more permissions than a standard user code. This code can be used to enter the Master Tools Menu to make various system changes. The Installer Code can access the Installer Tools Menu for making deep level programming changes that cannot be performed using a Master Code. However, the Installer Code can only disarm the system if it was used to arm it. Meanwhile, a Guest Code is even more limited than a user code, as it can only disarm if it was used to arm.

Finally, the duress code is a unique user code on the system. When you enter the duress code, it looks like the system was disarmed like normal. But in actuality, entering this code sends a secret duress signal to the central station. This lets the central station know that they need to send help to your premises immediately. You should only enter the duress code if you are in a serious hostage situation, and you need to discreetly call for help without letting those around you know.
