Ambrosia - The Hillbilly Kitchen

Ambrosia is a tropical fruit salad with mini marshmallows and a cream dressing. It can be made with fresh, canned or frozen fruit or any combination of the three. It is a delicious no-cook dessert that is traditionally served during the holidays but would be excellent during the hot summer at all your cookouts and barbeques.

You can make it a few hours ahead of time or the day before. You have probably had Ambrosia many times but may not have known what it was called. Now you know and you know how easy it is. This is the perfect dish to make if you are going to someone else’s dinner or a potluck because it is easy to transport and goes with everything.

Ingredients:

¾ cup Heavy Whipping Cream
¼ cup Powdered Sugar
1 teaspoon Real Vanilla Extract
½ cup Sour Cream
4 cups (10 oz bag) Mini Marshmallows
1 ½ cups Shredded Coconut
20 ounces (2 cans) Mandarin Oranges
7 ounces (1 jar) Maraschino Cherries
20 ounces (1 can) Pineapple Tidbits
½ cup Pecans
