Even recent history. It appears the pattern never changes. Alarming signs begin to emerge, society fractures usually due to the efforts of the regime in power, people with the ability to think critically and ask questions recognize this and begin to speak up, and then they are castigated, shamed, punished, and sidelined even though they are 100% correct about the danger they're all facing. This is the situation in Canada right now and it is the burgeoning situation here in the United States. It's the situation in Australia and has been for some time as well as New Zealand and to an extent Israel. But outside of Australia, nothing has been as extraordinary as the measures taken in Canada.
