Meadows Hot Springs

Located on private land in Utah is a hot spring like no other, on this episode we’ll uncover this mystery of meadows hot springs.

Formed in the middle of a field is meadows hot springs, a set of 3 different hot spring pools. The pools are located a few minutes west of the town of Meadows, Utah. Surprise, surprise.
The first of the pools is located 150 yards or 137 meters walk from the parking lot. This is not a public space, it’s actually on private land. The owner has been kind enough to allow people to enjoy the pools though but with a few rules. No nude bathing, no shampoo, no soap and no dogs.

The first of the 3 pools is the warmest at 97 degrees fahrenheit, or 36 celsius. It’s roughly 27 feet deep with a rock outcrop about ½ way down. If you are going to swim there bring some toe shoes or sandals as the rocks are sharp and watch your head on the way back up.
The second pool is a little further down the path. It is a little bit cooler than the first one and is around 40 feet deep.
The 3rd pool is the biggest one and the coolest one, maybe not the first choice in winter but better for spring / fall and summer. A visitor let loose some fish into the 3rd pool and now they are thriving in numbers there.

These pools are an excellent place to go scuba diving, if that’s your thing. Deep pools with very clear water makes for a nice dive, just make sure to bring lights as it gets very dark at the bottom. Occasionally cows can be found taking a dip in the 3rd pool to cool down. Around the pools are campsites visitors can use. Several fire pits are available as well, as long as guests don’t make a mess and clean up after themselves.
