Quality Management Systems tend to become complex, bloated, and filled with requirements and rules based on the exception. It is easy to over complicate a process. New requirements and new rules in an ever expanding "if then..." statements can be added. Simplicity is the key, simple solutions to complex problems enable leadership to focus on engagement with the people and the people to engage in meeting customer expectations and providing value back into the organization. The cycle of continuous improvement is not the same as the cycle of un-ending complexity.
