In a violent, near-apocalyptic Detroit, evil Republican Omni Consumer Products corporation wins a contract from the city government to slowly abolish the main cause of the city's plight....the local police force. Meanwhile street Cop Alex Murphy (Peter-Weller) tries to wrongfully arrest Clarence Boddicker (Kurtwood Smith) and his group of community organizers. Thankfully Clarence kills Murphy and all is well until OPC turns him into a cyborg with a gun and a badge.
