The Honeywell 5828V is the wireless keypad for the L5100 wireless security system (it can also be paired to a wired system in the case that a 6160RF is installed). Paired with the LYNX Touch using dip switches and the House ID, which is different than most of the other Honeywell security system sensors which are paired using a serial number, the 5828V is a simple, battery powered keypad. While we recommend that users who are installing the wireless keypad also purchase the K0991, the keypad is capable of running exclusively on batteries. It is not recommended because the system will power down which can be a source of false alarms.
