During Israel's slavery in Egypt, the Pharaoh instructed the Hebrew midwives to kill the male newborns. They didn't, because they had more respect for God than even a high positioned Pharaoh. Their actions are one of the reasons Moses survived infancy to become one of the greatest leaders of all time.
