Written about and just after a breakup I had in the early 1990s with a girl I probably would have married. Although the relationship seemed so perfect, I did recognize the major flaws after it ended. This is why the lyrics say "I held the dream I thought was real".

I recorded this song at Keith's house in a rush so that it could be included in the 7th heaven project "Jukebox". I still want to sing this live on camera. I just need to get a hold of the studio tracks.
