The most popular drug in the United States besides alcohol, caffeine and the shit your doctor overprescribes, marijuana comes from the cannabis plant. That’s why it’s often called cannabis.

But folks also use a variety of other synonyms and street names to describe marijuana. These were mostly derived during prohibition, where one had to hide their consumption habits.
