Caterpillar INVASION at camp! Over 1,000 show up all at the same time...what's going on?!

Had a pretty unique experience at camp two evenings ago. I was chilling with Phil from Down2Mob Overland inside his custom box camper attached to his Dodge Ram. I went outside to grab a beer and saw literally a thousand caterpillars coming towards the truck. At first I thought it was because of the heat from the engine but then I realized it was a pretty nice night out and heat wasn't the factor. We took tons of video and tried to figure out the culprit...never did determine was caused this. Kind of a cool phenomenon as long as bugs don't creep you out!
