ELECTION SEASON - VOTING WITH CARE

The 2022 South Australian state election for the 55th Parliament of South Australia is on 19 March 2022. All seats in the House of Assembly and half the seats in the Legislative Council or upper house, last filled at the 2014 election, will become vacant.

Then the 2022 Australian federal election is likely to be held on or before 21 May 2022 to elect members of the 47th Parliament of Australia. A half Senate election must be held by then and it is likely the l House election (which can be held as late as 3 September 2022) will be held for convenience on the same day as the half Senate election.

In this programme, Peter Manuel and David Flint discuss the care in voting which they think should be taken by voters. They advise against voting by habit and recommend voters consider carefully how they cast their preferences considering the similarity between the major parties.
