Russia steps up bombardment of Ukraine’s largest cities

On Russian television today Vladimir Putin repeated his view that Ukraine is not a real country and he denied Russian troops are targeting cities or killing civilians. That is clearly not true. Russian forces haven’t taken the capital, but they continue to bombard multiple cities.

Ukrainian officials met their Russian counterparts for a second day of negotiations and agreed to create humanitarian corridors for civilians to get out and aid to get in.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Putin to meet with him to negotiate an end to the invasion.

Meanwhile, Putin told his security council that the military operation is going to plan.

About 90 per cent of Russia’s forces that massed around Ukraine are reportedly inside the country.
