דיפאלי אוג'ה, עורכת דין מהודו מתארת כיצד מצד אחד האמצעים שנקטו שלטונות הבריאות היו ללא תקדים, ומצד שני כל נסיון של רופאים לתת טיפול מוקדם לחולים בעזרת תרופות מוכרות, תוספים, הומיאופתיה ושיטות טיפול אלטרנטיביות אחרות, נתקלו בהתנגדות קשה מצד הממסד. כפי הנראה שיטות אלה הוכחשו בגלל הרצון לתת אישור חירום לזריקות הגנטיות.
