This one gets my heart therock Love seeing my mom Ata Maivia Johnson, burst with pride (and tears) as she dances our traditional Samoan Taualuga In honor of #InternationalWomensDay it's a honor to show our Samoan culture. As the woman dances her beautiful Taualuga, the men will honor and illuminate her by dancing (called the SIVA) around her as a show of great respect, love and Samoan pride. I come in at the end to show my respect and love, but then I back out so the focus stays on her. When I came out, my mom started crying because she said in that moment she could FEEL so strongly all our ancestors, her parents and loved ones who are all in heaven. The MANA is so real, you can literally feel it.
