Do baby steps lead to real progress?

It is clearly true that taking baby steps is often the only realistic option, but when that is the case, should we ask ourselves whether we should look for other things to focus on?

Maybe we should try to find pursuits in which progress is not doomed to the painstaking slow progress of baby steps?? Pursuits where we can make a real, tangible, measurable difference before we burn out and get exhausted?

Maybe. But maybe not.

It depends on how you define the value of progress. It depends on how we define value in general.

It is often the case that the things with the highest tangible measurable value are not the same things that have the highest personal value, the things that actually mean the most to us.

And it is how much something means to us that actually makes the difference.
