After two years of COVID-19 lockdowns and travel advisories, things are beginning to return to normal as countries around the world lift restrictions.

The World Health Organization warns it is still “far too early to declare victory over the pandemic.”

However, as we mark the second anniversary since the WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic, Global News is looking back at past pandemics to see what they can teach us about how this one might end.
