Ethereum: One of the leading 'infrastructure' digital assets with the largest networks supporting all sorts of decentralised finance applications including most NFT's. It's great, but there's a few issues with it - It's expensive to use, it's a bit slow, and it's written in a language which is a bit more 'niche' that what other networks use.

While you wouldn't want to write off Ethereum just yet, especially considering the changes coming through soon, it has opened up some space for competitors to solve these problems inherent in this ecosystem.
