Epigenetics and Disease

Dr. Tom Roselle, DC discusses epigenetics. Epigenetics is the study of how your behaviors and environment can cause changes that affect the way your genes work. Epigenetics can be responsible for some disease states. Disrupting any system that contributes to epigenetic alterations can cause abnormal activation or “silencing of the gene.” Such disruptions have been associated with diseases and disorders including cancer and syndromes involving chromosomal instabilities.
