I'm Peter Serefine and this is the Liberty Minute for Tuesday, two years and two days into "two weeks to flatten the curve."
The United States is warning China that there will be consequences if China aids Russia in the invasion of Ukraine. The threat was left as vague 'consequences'.
You can be certain that China has watched the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan followed by a lack-luster response to the Ukrainian invasion. China has seen Biden beg for foreign oil. China profited off the masks and tests from the pandemic they are responsible for. China has seen the US let Russia negotiate with Iran on our behalf.
I doubt that China currently sees the United States as a threat at all and I think it is safe to say that President Xi is not shaking in his boots or anything like that.
