What a journey to get here. ❤️

Adoption is joy, redemption, and love.
Adoption is also trauma, heartbreak, and loss.

You don’t get one without the other.

It is not lost on me that a child born to another woman calls me “mamamama.”

It is a weight I do not take lightly.

It urges me to do better and stay educated.

To share the good but also the hard things because adoption is both.

To always honor and love his birth family because they are OUR family and they’ll always be on our family tree.

To soak up every sleepless night, every cuddle, every tantrum, and every milestone because another woman trusted a huge part of herself to me forever.

That gift, this little blue-eyed boy, is our greatest joy on earth.

Adoption has changed us in so many ways. Grateful for it all. ❤️
