Johnjoe McFadden is professor of molecular genetics and Director of the Quantum Biology Doctoral Training Centre at the University of Surrey in the UK. McFadden wrote the popular science book, Quantum Evolution on the concept of quantum evolution. The book examines the role of quantum mechanics in life, evolution and consciousness. The book has been described as offering an alternative evolutionary mechanism, beyond the neo-Darwinian framework.
