Doing laundry = Police choking to death

Fermin Vincent Valenzuela was murdered by Anaheim police, who put him into a deadly choke hold for the crime of doing laundry. The jury awarded $13M in damages, but the police appeal, arguing that they shouldn't have to pay $3M of that, which was based on wrongful death, which the police argue is not a thing in California. In today's case, we discuss the story of Fermin Vincent Valenzuela, and whether his family can keep all that the jury awarded.
