Reality Check: Gun Control

The Second Amendment wasn't added to the Constitution in order to protect our hunting rights, or to protect our right to defend ourselves from a personal attacker. To the Founders, those kind of things went without saying. It was their fear of government tyranny that led them to guarantee that our Right to Keep and Bear Arms would never be infringed. They knew what tyranny was from their own terrible experience, which is why they reminded us that it may one day be necessary to secure our freedoms just like they did--with a well armed militia.
