Pro-Ukrainian demonstrators scatter as Russian troops open fire

Russian forces have opened fire on protesters in the captured Ukrainian city of Kherson, leaving at least one person seriously injured, a local official said.

Ukrainian officials said that Russian troops used stun grenades and gunfire to disperse the rally in the city’s Freedom Square, injuring at least one person.

It came hours after a deadly rocket blast in the capital, Kyiv, as Vladimir Putin’s forces ratcheted up their bombardment on urban areas holding out against Russia’s invasion.
