A third of US COVID-19 now caused by Omicron BA.2 as overall cases fall

WASHINGTON – The BA.2 Omicron sub-variant of the coronavirus now causes about one-third of COVID-19 cases in the United States, according to government statistics released on Tuesday (Mar 22). Overall infections are still dropping from January's record highs.
