With Europe and the world distracted by Russia invading Ukraine, now would be the perfect opportunity for Ireland to make some moves. Iceland is there for the taking. They have no standing army and even though they are in NATO, Ireland is in the EU, so therefore NATO would have a real headache with an EU country attacking a NATO country. Would the US and Canada get involved, or the UK? It wouldn't be the first time for Ireland to launch a sneak attack with the world distracted. In 1916, right in the middle of world war 1, Ireland launched the Easter Rising in an attempt to gain independence from Britain.
