The horses cannot hear well above the rain. They are in a close knit herd with the heavy rain, facing away from the wind so they can smell predators.
This is what our property looks like as it threatens to flood. There's been some local flood warnings, but this is looking ok at the moment (famous last words - we do live in a flood zone).
