Jesus Blesses an Enemy

In John 18 we read of the acts of compassion that mark the arrest of Jesus. First, He stands in for his disciples that they may be set free. Then, He heals Malchus, who was struck by Peter's flailing sword. Who knows how far that act of compassion may have gone to open the door to the gospel?
