Jordan Peterson vs Cathy Newman: Why you should have the right to offend someone with your speech

Credit Instagram's @open1canada with this footage of the interview between @jordan.b.peterson and Cathy Newman of BBC Radio 4, the state-funded British broadcaster. This interview catapulted him to fame and happened a few years back.

Here we see them in full debate. Newman asks Peterson why he should have the right, in asking a question or making a statement, to offend someone who happens to be queer. The answer shocks her and her pause in order to gather her wits is quite frankly excruciating to watch.

The answer is neat and cuts right to the quick: why should you have the right to offend me, as you are right now doing?

Newman has never recovered from this verbal joust, and we can see why.
