U.S. Marines Conduct an Air Assault Course

October 18, 2021 - U.S. Marines with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 361, Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, conduct a ground insertion and extraction at Landing Zone Sandhill with the Marines of 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment during the Regimental Air Assault Course (RAAC) at Twentynine Palms California. The RAAC is conducted to train Marine Regiments in Air Assault Task Force (AATF) operations, for the purposes of seizing an objective, and conduct a dismounted defense in an enemy mechanized environment.
