How to Clean a Refrigerator Condenser Coil

When refrigerator condenser coils are clogged with dust and debris they can not efficiently release heat. The result is your compressor works harder and longer. This will cause your refrigerator to use more energy and shorten its life.

This video shows the cleaning of a LG SXS Side by Side Refrigerator, but many other side by side models are similar.

First disconnect power before servicing

If your Refrigerator Condenser Coil is still dirty after
vacuuming, drag it outside or to a wet area in the house
and carefully rinse away all the dirt, dust and debris with
cold water. Make sure everything is completely dry
before reconnecting to the power source
