The absurdity is pointed out in this satirical piece from the @BabylonBee. If love is nothing but a chemical, as Christopher Hitchens claimed, then whatever is the object of our chemical reaction is out of our control. There is then no action motivated by love, just a chemical response. Random acts of kindness are not truly kind, just one’s response to a chemical. Frank explains in this video.
