Algorhythm 1.2

This is an electroacoustic piece which I composed in 1987 and realized on the Fairlight CMI.

It is built upon a small selection/series of pitches. These small sets are layered and processed (transposition, inversion, fragmentation, retrograde, rotation, etc.) and then hundreds of iterations are unfurled following a long canonic pattern.

The sounds were produced on the Fairlight by drawing waveforms and adding partials and envelopes using a light pen.

It all sounds so archaic now... or perhaps that';s just me. 🧐
