You have a serious diagnosis, you know you cannot work, you have been told by well-meaning friends or family that you clearly qualify. Not so fast, and entirely not accurate. A diagnosis alone will not win you SSD or SSI, it cannot, under the law. Here is a quickie on what you need to do beyond having an unfortunate and serious diagnosis, if you believe you are disabled.
