Book chapters. What are they, how to write a chapter, how many chapters, words in a chapter?

Look at a chapter as a story within a story. The chapter can start off by easing the reader into it, then giving them plenty to chew on in the middle, followed by a bit of cliffhanger to finish to look forward to the next chapter. Think of a book and its chapters like a TV series. Each episode is part of the main series, and each episode is a little story.
