மானுட அமைப்பில் உடலினும் உயர்ந்தது உள்ளம். உடலில் ஏதேனும் குறைபாடு இருந்தால் அதை முன்னிட்டு மனிதன் கீழோனாகக் கருதப்படமாட்டான். ஆனால் மனத்தில் நேர்மையும் ஒழுக்கமும் நல்லறிவும் அமையப் பெறாதிருக்குமளவு அவன் புன்மையன் ஆவான். மனத்தை மாண்புறச் செய்யுமளவு மனிதன் மேலோன் ஆகிறான். உணவு ஊட்டி உடலை வளர்க்கிறோம். அப்படி உடலைப் பேணுவது உயிர்கள் அனைத்துக்கும் பொதுவானது. பின்பு உள்ளத்தைப் பேணுவது மனிதனுடைய தனிச்செயல் ஆகிறது. நல்லுணவையே உடலுக்குத் தரவேண்டும்; உணவு வெவ்வேறு வகைப்பட்டதாக இருக்கவேண்டும். விதவிதமான உணவு நாவுக்கு இனியதும் உடலுக்கு உறுதி தருவதும் ஆகும். நல்லெண்ணமும் நல்லுணர்வும் உள்ளத்துக்கு உணவு ஆகின்றன. எத்தனைவிதமான நல்லெண்ணங்களை எண்ணுகின்றோமோ அத்தனை விதங்களில் உள்ளம் உறுதிபெறும், மனத்துக்கு இனிய நல்லுணவு ஆவது "தினசரிதியானம்". அன்றாடம் வழிபாட்டுக்குப் பிறகு ஓர் எண்ணத்தை இதனின்று பெறலாம். பிறகு அதைப்பற்றிச் சிந்தனை பண்ணுவது அவசியம். சிந்திக்குமளவு அந்த மூலக்கருத்தில் வெவ்வேறு கிளை எண்ணங்களும் உள்ளத்தில் உதிக்கும். உள்ளத்தினுள் பக்தியையும் ஞானத்தையும் வளர்ப்பதற்கு இது உற்றதோர் உபாயம். தேதியை ஆங்கில முறையில் அல்லது தமிழ் முறையில் அவரவர் விருப்பம்போல் பின்பற்றலாம். சில வருடங்களில் ஆங்கிலத் தேதியும் தமிழ்த்தேதியும் ஒத்திருக்கும்; வேறு சில வருடங்களில் ஒருநாள் முன்னது பின்னதாக இருக்கும்.
