ENCOURAGEMENT TO DISCERN THE RIGHT PATHS

Colossians 3:21 King James Version
21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

GOOD EVENING IN YESHUA GANG!!!

I was very grateful to be able to study this passage of Scripture for myself, and see what God has shown me from it. For far too long, I was taught Proverbs 22:6, in a way that was controlling, manipulative, and abusive, and it wasn't until I got to college and started learning God's Word for myself, just what it meant. That this wasn't about beating a child into submission, but it was about training, instructing, and being a godly example as a parent to your own children! Encouraging your children to read God's word for themselves, so that they could see who God really is to them. That it's about encouraging, being attentive to, and helping develop the natural gifts and abilities that God has given your children, and not suppressing or shaming them for the gifts that God has given them.

Please allow me to ask these questions from this morning’s devotional, and I pray that God will challenge you through them.

Where have you encountered a parent attentive to their child’s heart or energy?

How has God revealed His attentive ways to you?

I think that's why these questions from this morning's devotional, really got me to thinking about this issue, and I'd like to share some thoughts that God has put on my heart tonight. Please join me in this vlog, and learn for yourself what it means to not only seek God's discernment in choosing the right paths, but to encourage your children to choose them as well! 😊

As I close this post tonight, I pray that you will ask God to give you what you need to not only be a godly parent, but one that is attentive, loving, and encouraging to your children. We have an awesome responsibility, to teach our children to follow God, but we can't do that, when first and foremost we're not following God truly ourselves, but also when we're using God's Word as a weapon against them. Lastly, I give a warning out there to parents who think that they can use scripture to browbeat, control, manipulate, and outright abuse their children, to let them know, that what they're doing is a sin against God, and unless you repent, you will suffer God’s judgement. Genuinely teach your children to trust in God, and they'll be able to discern the paths that they need to follow, that will bring them blessings for a lifetime!
